Capt. Cary Vanden Broecke is U.S. Coast Guard licensed and is here to provide you with a fun and safe fishing experience. Whether you are looking for that "Trophy Catfish" or just to catch a few fish give us a call. Fishing lakes in both North and South Carolina.
Capt. Cary grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay around Annapolis Md. At the age of 13 he started fishing offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. He has fished up and down the east coast, from Ocean City, MD to Key West, Florida. Cary has worked both as Captain and as a crew member on both private and charter boats up to 63' catching billfish, tuna and dolphin. He has also been on winning teams in many tournaments. In 2005 he and his family moved to the Charlotte area; a long way away from the ocean. The distance from the salty coast forced him to take "drastic measures", so he attended a Carolina Catfish Club meeting and listened to what the local lakes had to offer. After that meeting he was determined to catch trophy catfish. Since then Cary and his partners have fished many catfish tournaments on Lake Wylie and the surrounding lakes. He has had great success placing in and winning many tournaments. So come aboard with this experienced captain.
What you need- Proper fishing license (North or South Carolina freshwater fishing. Look on Links page for link to DNR sites or stop by Lake Wylie Bait and Tackle), cooler (if you want to keep fish) Camera, food and drinks, and if rain is in the forecast a rain suite.
We practice and promote CPR (Catch, Photograph, and Release) of all fish over 10lbs.
His boat is fully equipped with a GPS, color sonar, VHF radio, live well and Monster Rod Holders. All
rods, bait and tackle are furnished.
